Bridgette Potts |
Bridgette Potts is a junior at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is 20 years old and is studying Broadcast Journalism. She aspires to be a successful news reporter or anchor one day.
Potts was
born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Trish and Hal
Potts and has one sister, Kellye Potts. She attended High School in Franklin,
Tennessee where she participated in cheerleading and was also the captain of
the school step team. She likes being involved in group activities because she
enjoys working with others.
At MTSU,
Potts is involved in many student organizations. She is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and participates in the annual step show competition. and has been a reporter and anchor on the school's news channel, MT10 (click this link to watch Potts broadcast live on Tuesday nights at 6:30 and 10pm!).
One of her
favorite activities is writing. She won second place in a church essay
competition, received the highest grade of 6 on every annual writing assessment
throughout school, and won a writing competition in high school and received
the first place prize: a parking spot of her choice.
To gain
experience in her desired career field, Bridgette has job shadowed at Channel 4 news with Dennis Ferrier. In addition to her current anchor position with MT10,
She has also acquired on-camera experience in acting, including roles in
various commercials, print ads and a movie.
Potts has
gained a variety of restaraunt experience over the years. She has worked 5
different jobs, including Pizza Perfect, Smoothie King, Snappy Tomato, Bobby
McKee’s and O’Charley’s. Having these job experiences has provided her with the
ability to work well with customers and coworkers and taught her responsibility.
Bridgette
enjoys helping out in her community. She has volunteered at the Boys and Girls
Club, All Things Possible, Second Harvest Food Bank, Room in the Inn, Race for
the Cure and Cycling for the Cure. Donating time to help others is something
that is very dear to her heart.
Bridgette
one day hopes to have a successful career, live in a beautiful city, and have a
loving family. She believes that strong willpower and hard work are the keys to
achieving her goals.
